Random thoughts for a Thursday...

Mack deploys again today...This will be his third tour in Iraq. I have to say I am so proud of both him and my sister. It takes a brave person to fight for our freedom, and I appreciate him for that, and Sara is of course his biggest supporter! I am hoping he has a safe trip and gets home quickly and safely!

I had fun this weekend playing with Cole and Kristin's son, Jack, up at the outdoor sandbox at Flatirons. It's amazing to think they were these two tiny babies a little over a year ago that couldn't do anything on their own and now you can't take your eyes off of them for even a second! They are everywhere, getting into everything!! So amazing how smart they are becoming! But what a handful!!

Wedding season is officially over for the year!! At least for Scott and I! It's always great to see our friends find love and get married! And weddings are always a great excuse to get everyone together for a good time! But I'm not going to lie, I'm glad to have a break, even if it's only for a few months! :-) I wonder who will be next...

Update...

So I haven't posted for a while concerning the TM I was diagnosed with and I decided it's probably about time! I don't know why I have put this off, as I have what I feel is pretty good news, but for whatever reason I did! Anyway, long story short, I found a new neurologist and he is much more supportive than the last one! He ran a couple more tests, one was an evoked potential test that measured my brain waves based on my vision issues (everything came back normal, although Scott was surprised that they would even test brain waves in a blonde!), and the other was for Devic's disease (which is some sort of vision disease, that again came back normal!). So more tests to mark off the list and at this point I think I would have to be a medical mystery to develop MS, and I think my neurologist feels the same way! So yea!! I just have to get the little voices in my head to believe it too! :-)

Anyway, through this whole thing I have learned or been reminded of so much! Thought I would share!

*Every day really is a chance to try again.
*Take time to take pleasure in all the small things! With my TM I found a few things I am making sure to take pleasure in more often. One of those is stretching first thing in the morning right before I get out of bed! This really is one of the greatest "Ahhh" feelings, and when I was having my symptoms, it was painful for me to just stretch. I also have to say relaxing in the tub has become another, that first morning I woke up with my leg numb I was sure it would wake up in a hot bath, but when I couldn't even tell it was in hot water I was pretty destroyed! So when I can take the opportunity to feel the warmth of a nice hot bath, I plan on it!
*Life is Good. Really, no matter how bad it seems, I have a great life.
*I have found a new patience and empathy for others. I can't know walking down the street or driving down the highway what the next person is dealing with or the battle they are fighting. So I have started to bite my toungue and let that person drive slow in the fast lane, or smile more often at strangers on the street. No matter what, I may feel I've had a bad day, but someone always will have it worse.
*What doesn't kill me, will really make me stronger. And though some days I was and still am feeling weak and vulnerable, I am a lot stronger than I ever thought and I will be fine!
*My family and friends really are my everything...And no matter what if I ever fall, there will always be someone to pick me up.
*Sometimes the people you think care the most, might not really care as much, and the people you thought wouldn't care at all, care the most! I have really found out who my real friends are through this. They are the ones that let me cry, sometimes even crying with me...
*The importance of donating.
*I love life!

I am so grateful to have answers! I know I could possibly have lingering symptoms for quite some time if not the rest of my life and I know I'm not totally out of the woods, but I have hope things will continue to improve. I'm taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, and am really going to try to get better and move on from this!

This is the Life!!!

Really, what could possibly be better than hanging out at Uncle Scott and Aunt Meg's house, sitting in the grass in your underwear. Ahhhhhhh...
