Birthday's and Camping...

We celebrated Cole's first birthday two weekends ago! He's looking more and more like a real little man as opposed to a little baby! It's amazing to see how quickly they grow up, but I have to admit, I'm having a lot more fun with him now! :-)

We also just got back from a weekend camping trip, even mom came!! :-) We had a good time, spent a little time fishing, relaxing in between swatting the mosquitos, and enjoying the wildlife. Two huge Bull Moose were feeding pretty close to our camp, dad almost walked right into them!

11 days until Florida and the Mackey's!!!

California...

California was amazing! I really don't know how to describe it! It's been such a good summer as far as being able to travel and spend time with family, I don't think either one of us could ask for anything more!

We flew into California the evening of the third. Took it easy having dinner with Scott's family and checking into the hotel. The morning of the 4th we headed out to have breakfast at the track. Sitting across from us was one of the announcers on equibase (where we are able to watch all of Scott's dad's horses run), which was kind of exciting, although he isn't much of a celebrity I was pretty giddy. We watched some of the horses work and then went back to the barn. I knew I had missed going out to the track this summer, but didn't realize how much! I had a blast seeing all of his horses and just being in the atmosphere again! After we left the track we drove up the coast hitting seal beach and venice beach. From there we went to eat at the Crab Pot, which was amazing, and we had a great view of the fireworks!

Saturday we made it out to Disney Land, which again was a lot of fun! We rode on all the old rides that Scott remembered from his childhood trips there and then ventured into the new California park! We probably could have spent two or three days there, but one was so worth it!

Sunday was the wedding so we headed out to Temecula, where I finally got a chance to see the Burn's ranch (Scott's Aunt and Uncle's place). It was great to finally see it!! I couldn't imagine how they possibly manage to keep track of all of those horses!! The wedding was a blast! Seeing all of Scott's family and just the chance to spend that time relaxing and enjoying each other's company was the best part of the trip!

We even managed to have a little fun after the wedding winning a little money at the casino!! It was such a fun trip and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to make it out there and spend the time we did with his family! The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Lindy and Shawn had made it, but we have a lifetime left for fun times like this!
